Indra Thomas is famous for her interpretation of the title role and she did not disappoint on this occasion. Her powerful voice with its lustrous silvery top fit the part perfectly and she came through the treacherous Nile Scene with almost no problems. Carlo Ventre, who looks more like a body builder than a traditional opera singer, was a believable Radames who sang with strong burnished tones after the first few notes of his first scene aria, 'Celeste Aida'.
