-------------------------------

After the interval Radojkovic -- without leaving the platform -- presented overwhelming accounts of two equally taxing works -- Beethoven's 'Variations on an original theme, WoO 80' and Mendelssohn's 'Variations Serieuses, Op 54. One critic marvelled at her ability to produce such dynamic contrasts while maintaining a presence of peace.

Still more there came a shattering account of the Prokofiev Sonata No 3, Op 28; performed with a spine tingling blend of demonic ferocity and steely delicacy. Finally, with barely a pause, Radojkovic presented Marko Tajcevic's 'Seven Balkan Dances' -- engaging and foot-tapping music to be sure.

Her three Chopin encores (Including the 2nd of the 'Posthumous Etudes') set the seal on an evening of musical riches and great artistry.

In the weeks ahead Radojkovic's schedule takes her to Athens (for a recording); then to Winnipeg, and Chicago.

As for New Zealand ... in her wake 'Sonja' left many new, personal friends and scores of converts to her spellbinging artistry. Her 'immortal' parting words -- 'I'll be back'.
