Ali Wood
Blonde 19 year-old Ali Wood - the first Australian concert pianist to
make a New York debut at Carnegie Hall (1998), and credited as being the
first classical pianist to use lighting and other special effects to enhance
her recitals - is now online at ali-wood.com. Ali Wood gives between 80 and 100 recitals per year,
and her 2000 schedule includes performances in Asia, England, and South
Africa.
Is it cool or hot?
If you're here just idly surfing, you could try proceding via Classical
is cool's page of 'cool hot links', which appears to be very up-to-date. Recommend
a site not on their lists, and they'll apparently send you a classical CD
if they use your suggestion. Alternatively, hubat.com is an automatic links database with a reasonable
arts and literature section. If you visit, try the music and opera subsections,
which have lists of useful sites.
Valeri Dimchev
If your knowledge of Bulgarian music is no better than mine, you might
find out more by visiting the website of Desislava and Valeri Dimchevi, whose site has
MP3 sound extracts. The Dimchevi duo also work as a trio with Tony Apostolov.
Humour from New Zealand
In case you haven't seen their site before, the New Zealand Symphony
Orchestra has a large collection of musical humour links on their website. Don't miss Dale Gold's
computer music critic, the quotations of Eugene Ormandy or 'How to Cook
a Conductor'!
