Streaming BBC Radio Three
The BBC's prestigious arts channel Radio 3 has recently begun streaming live on the net. The
BBC are using a 20kbps Real Audio feed in stereo, and they regret that not
all programmes are yet available. Controller Roger Wright refers to Radio
3 as 'the most important high quality classical music and cultural network
in the world'. Have
a listen and see what you think.
Classical beginnings
A new monthly newsletter from California is now available for those who
'enjoy classical music but may not have the time, energy or resources to
learn about it'. This one isn't free, however. There's (a little) more information
on the Classical
Beginnings website.
Belgrade Cultural Centre Music Programme
The Belgrade Cultural Centre Music Programme is online with details of some regular concerts (including
a series called The Flute Always and Everywhere), some broadcast
on Radio Belgrade, and featuring many other arts. There's rather less information
than many of us would like, and some of the pages are a little out of date,
but it's nicely designed.
The Australian Voices
In case you missed the paragraph about this group in our On the horizon
article recently, have a look at the neat website (run as part of ArtsNOW
Australia) of The Australian Voices - a group of young adult singers directed
by Australian composer and conductor Stephen Leek. From the look of some
of the photos on this site, it looks as though they have a good time too
...
