Ouseley and his Angels
David Bland has published the story of St Michael's College, Tenbury (Worcestershire, UK) and its founder, the Reverend Sir Frederick Arthur Gore Ouseley. For nearly 130 years (1856-1985) the College maintained its tradition of daily choral worship, influencing the musical standards found in today's UK cathedral choirs. Dr Roy Massey, MBE, Organist of Hereford Cathedral, in the foreward to this new book, writes 'David Bland has chronicled the story of Frederick Ouseley and his College in eminently readable style. He traces its early years, the time of its greatness, and the sad but probably inevitable decline in a changing world. But Ouseley's great work continues in a new guise and the author speaks of the wonderful role of the Ouseley Trust.' Ouseley and his Angels (335 pages) is published in hardback, with a colour dustjacket, and includes photographs and other illustrative material throughout the text. Copies can be ordered from many online booksellers.
