At her initial appearance in Act II, Lisanne Norman's Musetta was impossible to please and made one wonder what Alcindoro saw in her. In the ensuing two acts, however, her portrayal softened and she seemed more the character that writer Henri Mürger fashioned after real artist's model and singer, Marie-Christine Roux. Norman sang 'Quando me'n vo' with clear lustrous tones and excellent diction.
