James Cresswell was a fine Masetto who stood up to the Don as much as a peasant could and sang with dark tonal colors. His Zerlina, the cute and perky Lauren McNeese, gave a finely detailed vocal performance. Kang-Liang Peng was an authoritative Commendatore who made the Don's last moments credible. New chorus master Grant Gershon has already proved that he can handle the opera job well and this Mozart work was no exception.
