located adjacent to the National Trust's historic Capability Brown-designed
Stowe Landscape Gardens near Buckingham, a series of highly atmospheric,
and at best gripping, productions.
This year Stowe followed up an impressive Lucia di Lammermoor
and Eugene Onegin, both of which featured the characterful young
bass Robert Poulton (seen as Onegin, alongside Jeffrey Lloyd-Robert's Lensky,
at Grange Park Opera near Winchester this summer), with Verdi's Il Trovatore,
and produced impressive results.
