Leading British directors are regularly invited to Gent and Antwerp :
Warner, Antony McDonald and Nicholas Hytner (see below), to name but three.
So too was the fast-rising, peculiarly inventive Scottish director David
McVicar, who followed up a notable Idomeneo by staging last season's
new production of Offenbach's last masterpiece, The
Tales of Hoffmann, in which Mireille Delunsch's Antonia and Marc Claesen's
Crespel were among several outstanding performances.
