San Francisco Bay Area Choral Archive

Helene Whitson and Valerie Howard, compilers of the SF Bay Chorus Directory, are working on a project to provide current and historical information about choral activity in the area. The project's umbrella website contains the Chorus Directory and information about the Historical Archive and support services, and is at www.choralarchive.org .

 

Charlotte Choral Society and the Continued Growth Committee

Bruce Dalton, a member of the board of directors of the Charlotte Choral Society who directs the society's Continued Growth Committee, is seeking marketing ideas which might help the choir to increase community awareness, audience numbers and choir membership. The society would also like comments on their new webpage at www.charlottechoralsociety.org.

 

Swanhurst Chorus

Tygerberg, South Africa

Formerly known as the Bellville Civic Choir, the City of Tygerberg Choir is a South African choir of about 140 members, active in making international contacts and organising tours abroad. Their director is Edward Aitchison (Lecturer in Music Education at the University of Stellenbosch). The Ultimate Stabat Mater Website

Hans van der Velden and Hannie van Osnabrugge from the Netherlands have been busy with a CD collection of (currently) 84 different Stabat Maters. You'll find information on the composers, the music and the texts, and translations of the Stabat Mater Dolorosa in twelve languages at ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/HvanderVelden/.
