This interesting MSR Classics disc features Joshua Pierce — a pianist new to me, but someone who has recorded extensively and performed widely, particularly in the US and Europe.
Haydn's Piano Concerto in D, H 18 opens the disc — a well-known work, sometimes also recorded on harpsichord or forte piano. Immediately the pianist is presented as someone with a deft touch, and in the first movement, he pushes the tempo on a little — something I normally do not like — but in this instance he always manages to reign it in, and it is never excessive. I would have liked just a little more breath here, however...
