This gem of a disc includes music I hadn't heard before. I was familiar with some of Pelléas et Mélisande as it appears in a suite, but this is the first time I have heard the whole thing. The soundscape is varied, but tends to concentrate on the orchestra's lower palate. The cor anglais, representing Melisande, plays a rather prominent part...
