One of the most beautiful works ever written for violin and orchestra, Bruch's First Violin Concerto, comes off a treat in this interpretation by Antje Weithaas. I was weaned on Salvatore Accardo's account with the Leizpig Gewandhaus Orchestra under Kurt Masur (Philips) as well as some other legendary interpretations by Alfredo Campoli and Ruggiero Ricci amongst others. Weithaas is a brilliant exponent of this great work, however...
