The more I hear of Telemann, the more baffling his comparative neglect seems. Yes, it's easy to feel bewildered by the sheer quantity of music he produced — 'probably more than Bach and Handel put together' estimated baroque music scholar Nicholas Anderson at the time of the composer's centenary in 1981. But it's good that this endlessly inventive composer is getting more of his fair share of attention now...
