In the simplest of terms, pianist Aaron Kallay's new recording of music by American composer Daniel Lentz is neither good nor bad. It's merely okay — a shrug-of-the-shoulders kind of disc. This tepid evaluation stems in equal parts from Lentz's music and Kallay's performance thereof. Kallay's fingerwork is consistently adequate, and Lentz's music is pleasant (for lack of a better word), but neither artist offers up a hair-raising experience...
