I would 'delight' in feeling a wave of enthusiasm during this indeterminate Cedille programme with its curiously motley form. A noteworthy highlight is the West Side Story Concerto, divertingly arranged by Randall Craig Fleischer, current Music Director of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Anchorage Symphony, and Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.
Mr Fleischer first came to international attention while serving his first of five years as Assistant, then Associate conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra. He conducted Dvořák's Cello Concerto with Rostropovich as soloist during the NSO's 1990 tour of Japan and the USSR...
