Not for Everyone A collaboration between Turnage and Scofield - reviewed by RON BIERMAN '... well executed ...'

Scorched is a collaboration between classical composer Mark-Anthony Turnage and jazz guitarist-composer John Scofield. Turnage based the piece on a number of Scofield's songs, and the guitarist was an improvising soloist at the work's premiere. The selection, organization and editing of the DVD somewhat mirrors Turnage's jarring style. Nonetheless, viewers will come away with a better picture of the composer and the effort that goes into a major new composition.
