Another Twist
American Composer Ryan Garber's composition, Another Twist for baritone saxophone, has been released on Germany's Bella Musica label. Written for Linda Bangs, the piece was first performed in Darmstadt, Germany, on 3 March 2007 before its release on the album Contrasts: Kammermusik für Baritonsaxophone. Garber's music is performed in a variety of venues in the United States and Europe. He has received awards, recognition, and special performances from five national organizations and in 2002 was named 'Composer of the Year' by the Tennessee Music Teachers Association. His music has been recorded on four CD labels. He is currently an Associate Professor of Music at Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, TN, USA. Linda Bangs was a founding member of the Rascher saxophone quartet and studied with (Sigurd) Raschèr and Laurence Wyman. She founded the South German Saxophone Chamber Orchestra in 1990, teaches saxophone at the Academy for Music in Darmstadt, has performed widely in the USA and Europe, and has made many recordings.
