Max Reger
The Max Reger Foundation of America incorporated in March 2006 and has been selecting its Board of Directors and Strategic Advisers. The President and Founder is David V Cox, an organist and consultant. The not-for-profit organization is based in New York City and will promote the music of Max Reger by sponsoring concerts (of music by Reger and other composers from 1850 onwards), research projects, and commissioning new works. Future programs will be announced in the fall. Max Reger (1873-1916) was a German composer known for his organ works and piano compositions. He also composed chamber works, orchestral pieces, and vocal music. He was University Music Director and Conservatory Professor at the University of Leipzig and the Conductor of the Meiningen Hofkapella.
