Hindemith discovery

An important piano concerto by Paul Hindemith has been rediscovered.

Written in 1923 for Austrian pianist Paul Wittgenstein, who lost his right arm fighting in the first world war, Hindemith's Concerto for the Left Hand was never played, and the score disappeared when Wittgenstein died in 1961. When Hilde Wittgenstein, the pianist's wife, died in 2001 in Pennsylvania, USA, the score was rediscovered amongst her effects.
