Carey Blyton

The English composer, arranger, editor, author and nonsense poet Carey Blyton died on 13 July 2002 aged 70.

Carey Blyton (1932-2002)

Born in Beckenham, Kent on 14 March 1932, Blyton studied at London's Trinity College of Music with William Lovelock, winning the Granville Bantock Composition Prize in 1954. His music includes Toi et Moi - five songs for baritone and piano to poems by Paul Geraldy, and Bananas in Pyjamas, a short nonsense song taken up by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for Children's TV programming, which developed into a live stage show touring Australian schools, with films and associated licensed products.
