Halina Czerny-Stefanska
Polish pianist Halina Czerny-Stefanska died in Krakow, Poland, on 1 July 2001, aged 78. She studied with her father, then with Jozef Turczynski and Zbigniew Drzewiecki. She was joint winner with Bella Davidovich of the 1949 International Chopin Competition, and became professor of musicology at the music conservatory in Krakow.
