Try as he might, Rui dos Reis cannot hide the fact that he is a philosopher. A talented photographer, he seizes the instant in his passion for photography.

To throw some of the most unexpected features of his career into a melting pot, I can add that this virtuoso pianist (who can play from memory any song in any key on any keyboard) not only played celesta, harmonium and harpsichord regularly with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, conducted the Swiss Eurovision Song Contest entry (Oslo), was it's pianist (Lausanne), accompanied Ballet Béjart, performed French cabaret with the soprano Mireille Berrod, arranges music in just about every style including humour and parody (CDs with Ilan Horowitz), accompanied Natalie Choquette, and would have been a perfect accompanist and arranger for Cathy Berberian (whose work he has admired since the 1970s). He also appeared as a pianist and portrayed a character in a Chekhov production.
