Los Angeles Opera presented Jenufa in the Mackerras and Tyrell edition at The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on 30 September 2007. Max Keller's strong chiaroscuro lighting for the Met was recreated in Los Angeles by Brian Gale. Both sets and lighting helped to underscore the character of the work in Olivier Tambosi's stark, verismo staging.
