When Paul Dean, Artistic Director of the Bangalow Music Festival, was searching for a suitable location to run a classical music festival with a strong Australian flavor, he eventually decided that this sophisticated country town so close to the deluxe seascape haven of Byron -- Australia's Californian equivalent -- was the perfect choice.
