Five years ago Fred Jonny Berg was twenty six and had completed
his opus 50, a violin sonata which begins his first CD Seasons of the Year.
A precocious talent indeed from a young Norwegian composer
who describes himself rather pretentiously as autodidactic and, over two CDs
presents to the world eleven samples of his formidable total output which,
the brief notes tell us, includes a wide variety of instrumental works,
symphonic poems, two piano concertos, chamber music and electroacoustic
pieces.
