<< -- 9 -- Howard Smith VISIONARY DEVELOPMENTS
Chris Craker commented: 'The second International Violin Competition, (Uralsk), was an unmitigated success -- great contestants, fine organisation, a glimpse for both participants and adjudicators alike, to gain a real sense of the flavour of Uralsk. I ... anticipate the competition gaining even further momentum and becoming a fixture in the international competition circuit for young violinists from all over the world'.

In sum, such an unqualified triumph was the outcome of tireless, low-profile, behind-scenes teamwork by Marat, his Manager, Ganimat Bisengaliev; niece and Orchestra manager, Gayhar Bisengaliev; and Marat's UK-based partner, Vassilia Mikhail.

Beyond question this had been a stellar week for the distinguished Uralsk competition, the new orchestra, and the cultural profile of Uralsk as a whole.
