This CD from the guitarist Christopher Parkening gives pride of place
to a guitar concerto by Elmer Bernstein, has an arrangement of Albeniz'
La Vega for guitar and orchestra, and incorporates a vintage recording
of Jack Marshall's three-movement Essay for guitar and orchestra
from 1967.
All in all, this CD gives a duration of 48 minutes to pleasant music
unsullied by challenging interventions [listen --
track 3, 0:00-0:47]. Fair enough for those who prefer their listening
supplied smooth and creamy. Christopher Parkening's playing fits the scenario
perfectly.
