The greatest composer of Lieder, Franz Schubert (1797-1828) is undoubtedly one of the most recorded where this genre is concerned, and this CD is more about the singer than the songwriter. Florian Boesch is certainly no newcomer to this repertoire, having already recorded Schubert's three great song cycles for this label and also issued a not so distant Schubert recital for Hyperion (3/14).
