The Golden Dragon is the latest opera by Hungarian composer and conductor Peter Eötvös, based on a play by German writer Roland Schimmelpfenig. Michael McCarthy's production for Music Theatre Wales, using an English translation by Gregory Vajda, was its UK premiere, with the composer present. (Buxton Opera House, Buxton, UK, 18 July 2016.)
