This CD heralds a new series by Naxos dedicated to the orchestral music of Enrique Granados (1867-1916) in the centenary year of his death. The Spanish composer is famous for his piano works, as well as the heralded opera Goyescas but this CD is certainly of huge interest with music that is well crafted and very tuneful.
The Marcha de los vencidos ('March of the Defeated') was composed in 1899 and has a certain swagger and nobility...
