Barnstorming Virtuosity
The Rochdale Town Hall organ -
heard by GERALD FENECH'... played with absorbing panache by Byram-Wigfield ...'

This is the second volume of overture transcriptions from organist Timothy Byram-Wigfield and it is surely a treat in every way. The Rochdale Town Organ is truly a splendid instrument with the transcription of Nicolai's Merry Wives of Windsor overture sounding absolutely resplendent in Edwin Lemare's transcription.
There are also some interesting rarities in the shape of Handel's Overture to Ptolemy and 'A stronghold sure' from Bach's cantata Ein' feste burg, transcribed by C S Land and Harvey Grace respectively...
