There are those who would doubtless run at the sight of the subtitle of this album: after all, there have been many attempted marriages of jazz and classical music, and many of those have sounded like shotgun weddings. But this attempt in fact stretches much wider than jazz — there are influences from various world musics, plus Tin Pan Alley, Broadway and other forms of Americana as well. Which might cause others who bolt at the thought of 'crossover' to do just that. They'd be missing out actually, although this is certainly not an album for purists of any stripe...
