Milan Dvořák (no relation to the famous Antonín) was born on 6 December 1934 into a family of a violinist and a music teacher. So it is no surprise that he started playing the piano at the age of seven. Later, while studying at the Faculty of Engineering in Prague, he joined a student jazz quintet, playing music as an amateur. He graduated in 1958, upon which the Communist regime pressurized him to take a position as an engineer in a metallurgy combine in Ostrava...
