I discovered the music of this great Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff a few years ago, whilst listening to a disc of Entartete Musik ('degenerate music', as labelled under the Nazi regime). This disc included works of Hindemith and Krenek amongst others. Unfortunately Schulhoff did not survive the regime and died of tuberculosis in a concentration camp in 1942. Until recently his music has been largely forgotten, so this disc is very welcome...
