Sagra Musicale Umbra (Extraordinary Artistic Freedom, 24 September 2014) is one of Italy's most ancient music festivals; along with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Sagra is seventy years old. The Maggio Musicale has very serious problems, as described a few months ago (Troubles in Florence, 2 May 2015). The Sagra Umbra has little money, but nonetheless it conjures up excellent programs. The Maggio has forgotten its initial mission: to rediscover forgotten masterpieces...
