After considering the CD of music by Bruce Babcock, a screenplay and chamber music composer, I received Montage, a harmonia mundi (USA) release with first recordings of new music for solo piano by half a dozen noted film score writers. The featured pianist Gloria Chen has worked alongside all six of these composers.
They are John Williams, Bruce Broughton, Don Davis, Michael Giacchino, Randy Newman and Alexandre Desplat. Five pieces are by Broughton, five tracks are work of Newman and four from eighty-three-year-old veteran composer John Williams...
