Catalan pianist Eudald Buch's Buxton Festival Recital (Pavilion Arts Centre, Buxton, UK, 13 July 2015) took us from J S Bach at his most methodical to Skryabin on the verge of his increasingly dotty final decade.
He began with two Preludes and Fugues from Book 2 of The Well-Tempered Clavier. He skilfully integrated the changes of tempo in the C sharp major Prelude, though its C sharp minor companion did not always have a firm sense of direction...
