The composers represented here are Tartini, Stamitz, Vitali, Vivaldi and Kreisler (in the style of Vivaldi).
Kreisler wrote delightful Viennese 'gems' in the style of forgotten Baroque composers; including Pugnani, Francoeur, Martini, Porpora, Dittersdorf and Lanner. These morsels became popular encores and Kreisler's cadenza's for the Beethoven and Brahms Violin concertos were gladly welcomed by scores of touring violinists and their audiences.
While Tartini notated his sonatas with a bass part, he is said to have played them unaccompanied...
