Sydney Hodkinson is not a composer previously known to me. Much of the music recorded here was written after 2000 by a composer then aged sixty-five. I was pleasantly surprised, but it did take a couple of listenings to reach that state.
The CD begins with three pieces from Episodes — five thoughts for solo piano...
