La donna del lago ('The Lady of the Lake') is an opera by Gioachino Rossini with a libretto by Andrea Leone Tottola. Based on the French translation of Sir Walter Scott's 1810 narrative poem The Lady of the Lake, it was the first Italian opera to romanticize the Scottish highlands. La donna was deeply influential in the development of Italian romantic opera.
