The Sitwell Singers at Christmas,

As I say every year, you can always rely on the Sitwell Singers to explore fresh and unusual material alongside the favourites in their Christmas concerts (St John's Church, Derby, UK, 15 December 2014).
Late Renaissance polyphony in the shape of Peter Philips' O Beatum et Sacrosantum Diem opened the evening, with finely judged dynamic contrasts. A little later the choir divided in two for Samuel Scheidt's In Dulci Jubilo, with some adroitly handled tempo and rhythm changes...
