Music on the Move was the tagline for Derby Concert Orchestra's Christmas concert (Derby Cathedral, Derby, UK, 6 December 2014), with pieces for trains and boats and planes, and with audience carols slotted in between. If there were more trains than anything else, well that was only right for an old-established railway town like Derby.
The waltz from Richard Rodney Bennett's score for Murder on the Orient Express is one of the best-loved pieces of film music of the last forty years or so...
