Legendary recordings of the Bach 'Double' D minor concerto include Yehudi Menuhin and George Enescu (violins) with Orchestre Symphonique de Paris and Pierre Monteux.
These recordings were made in Paris in 1932-36 (EMI Great Recordings of the Century, 3919632; Naxos Historical Great Violinists, 8.110965; Dutton Historic CDVS1916).
Equally noteworthy is the inimitable Jascha Heifetz recorded on 14 and 19 October 1946. Heifetz plays both solo parts with the RCA Victor Chamber Orchestra and conductor Franz Waxman (Naxos Historical, 8.111288)...
