San Diego Opera's 'Don Quixote'
The San Diego Opera's demise isn't close to the 'graceful' one Executive Director Ian Campbell has been quoted as envisioning. The boos were nearly as loud as the applause when he came to the stage to introduce the 'final' production, Jules Massenet's Don Quixote [seen 5 April 2014]. When he announced the Opera was closing, a voice louder than his shouted from the back, 'The Opera isn't yours to close!!'
The mystery deepens...
