Chamber music in Arizona, heard by MARIA NOCKIN
Close Encounters with Music is a chamber music organization that brings concerts to United States cities from Massachusetts to Arizona. Headed by cellist Yehuda Hanani, these concerts begin with a short but most informative analysis of the music to be performed that helps the increasingly large Scottsdale audience understand its deeper meaning. The concert on 29 January 2014, entitled Anatomy of a Melody, included Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Trio in B flat major, Paul Schoenfield's Shaatnez for Ady, and Johannes Brahms' Piano Quartet in A major.
