Texas-born composer Michael Mauldin (born 1947) has concocted his speculative musical essay The Last Musician Of Ur incorporating brief references to the Hurrian songs music inscribed in cuneiform on clay tablets excavated from the Hurrian city of Ugarit. These date to approximately 1400 BC. One of these tablets, which is nearly complete, contains the Hurrian hymn to Nikkal (also known as the Hurrian cult hymn)...
