As a supporter of this wonderful group, I was dismayed to hear (from Norman Lebrecht) that Andreas Richter is stepping down after six brilliantly entrepreneurial years as chief executive of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, from March. He claims to love the job, but complains it keeps him away from home 100 nights a year -- and that's too much for a man with a young family...
