Mozart's 'Don Giovanni' at Los Angeles Opera,

Conductor James Conlon gave the lecture preceeding the performance of Don Giovanni at Los Angeles Opera on 30 September 2012. In it he quoted the pianist, Artur Schnabel, who said that a masterpiece is a work which is better than any of its performances. I doubt that anyone has ever seen a perfect rendition of Mozart's Don Giovanni, although there have been many great performances of the opera and even more fine performances of its demanding roles.
