Canadian violinist Lara St John (born 1971, London, Ontario) and French-born harpist Marie-Pierre Langlamet (born 1967, Grenoble) lavish considerable artistry on their unconventional duo performances of eighteenth century works intended for violin and flute or recorder with harpsichord/clavichord accompaniment.
Of course St John can programme as she pleases for 'her own' label Ancalagon -- a company named after her pet iguana.
Also on board as consulting producer during this project at Teldex Studio (Berlin) in 2011 was Martha de Francisco, acclaimed professor of Sound Recording, McGill University, Montreal.
Substituting the harp for the Baroque harpsichord results in near-perfect sine waves, pearl-like sounds, quite at variance with the customary (percussive) harpsichord and/or fortepiano...
